According to the U.S. Department of Labors Occupational Outlook Handbook, occupations associated with business and computer skills will be one of the fastest growing employment sectors by the year 2015. Business and technology will play a pivotal part in the future lives of all students. No matter your choice of occupation, these courses will provide a basic knowledge and the skills necessary to succeed in the real world.

Business and Computer Applications courses provide students with an opportunity to gain the necessary skills, attitudes, and knowledge for success in the business world.

Business education courses are directed toward students pursuing a business degree in college as well as students seeking employment in the skilled areas immediately following graduation.

Why Join FBLA?  The main activity of the club is to participate in the Regional Competitions so that you are eligible to attend the Regional Conference and hopefully qualify to attend the State Conference.

Regional Competitions:  These are online tests or performance events.  You choose one from a variety of business topics.  See the list at:  > click on Competitive Events.  The online tests are taken at South.  The performance events are done at the Regional Conference.

Regional Conference:  Sixteen high schools from our area attend the Regional Conference.  If you take an online test or sign up for a performance event, you get to attend the 1-day Regional Conference held at a local college.  At the conference, you attend 2 business-related seminars, compete in your performance event, and at the end of the morning, hear the results of all the competitions and learn who qualifies to move on to States!

State Conference:  This is a 2-day event held in Hershey, PA in April.  If you place in the top 3  for your event, you may attend the  State Conference.  Once again, you compete in your event but this time against other students from all over PA.

To be considered an Active Member, you must attend 75% of the meetings – attendance will be taken. Active Membership in FBLA can be included on college or employment applications.

    Dues:  Membership dues are $35.00.

Meeting are held during lunch & learn in Mrs. Kutz's room, C224.
