    What is sustainability?

Sustainability means meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The 一本道 Bucks School 一本道 is at the forefront of promoting sustainability initiatives to build healthy and sustainable schools that positively impact our students, staff, the environment, and the community in order to create a better, greener future.

    What Sustainability Means to 一本道

一本道 strives to lessen any negative impact on the environment by operating in an environmentally responsible manner. 一本道 seeks to reduce its carbon footprint, consume less energy, and produce less waste. 一本道 is committed to implementing sustainable practices and solutions throughout our 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and three high schools. With a focus on energy reduction, recycling, and sustainable renovations, 一本道 has been promoting green initiatives that are reducing the schools district’s ecological footprint and increasing cost savings.

Successful recycling efforts have diverted tons of waste from landfills, such as paper, cardboard, e-scrap, and batteries. During renovations, we approach the function of our school buildings in the context of sustainability, and make decisions accordingly.
