Initial Options
-
Four initial renovation/replacement options were offered by the administration to the Board. As of Feb. 13, 2025, two options remain.
Option 1
Build a new school that will welcome students from Doyle, Kutz, and Linden. Renovate the remaining five schools. (No longer being considered as of Feb. 13, 2025)Option 2
Renovate all eight schools. This option may include a complete "gut renovation" of Kutz and Linden.Option 3
Build a new school that will welcome students from Doyle, Kutz, and Linden. Build a new Warwick. Renovate the remaining four schools. (No longer being considered as of Dec. 2, 2024)Option 4
Build a new school that welcomes students from Doyle and Linden. Renovate the remaining six schools.
First Five
-
On Dec. 2, 2024, the Board approved the district moving forward with addressing the capital needs at five of the eight elementary schools (Barclay, Buckingham, Gayman, Titus and Warwick) at an amount of $235 million.
The schools approved for renovations do not include Doyle, Kutz and Linden. The plan for these three schools will be finalized after continued Board discussions and community feedback opportunities.
Combined DKL No Longer Being Considered
-
At the Feb. 13, 2025 Finance and Operations Meeting (), the committee and district confirmed that the option of combining Doyle, Kutz and Linden into a single school is no longer on the table.
The current decision to address the capital needs at Doyle, Kutz, and Linden is now between 1) renovating all eight schools, including Doyle, Kutz, and Linden, or 2) combining Doyle and Linden into a new building on Doyle's current property and renovating Kutz, which would include the replacement of the 1930s section of Kutz with new construction.
