    Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Buckingham – Home of the Mighty Knights!  We are a kindergarten through sixth grade elementary school community that values student achievement and the development of the whole child.  It is my pleasure to welcome you to our school and to explore our website.

Buckingham is a school with a rich tradition of dedicated professional and support staff who work together to create a positive learning environment that focuses on helping students succeed.  They are committed to ongoing professional development and learning as it provides the foundation for positive educational experiences for our students.  We work diligently to understand the needs of our children – while providing a safe place for all students to learn.  As educators, we strive to instill a commitment to life-long learning within each of our students, to prepare them for success in a rapidly changing world.

Equally important to the academic growth of our students is their development as young persons.  The children at Buckingham know that character matters.  With the support and guidance of their parents and teachers, our students are learning what it means to be dependable, reliable citizens.  Specifically, the Buckingham Mighty Knight Community focuses on these six essential pillars of character:

    Trustworthiness   ·   Respect   ·   Responsibility

    Fairness   ·   Caring   ·   Citizenship

Besides our dedicated teachers and students, the third “ingredient” that contributes to Buckingham’s excellence is the positive partnership that exists between the home and school.  Our parents are extremely giving of their time and energy, volunteering at school throughout the year.  Our PTO and committee organizers plan many engaging family-oriented activities, making Buckingham Elementary the heart of the community.  The school and the home work together to ensure one thing: that we are always doing what is best for kids.

I admire the Buckingham community and am fortunate to serve as principal of its school.  I look forward to helping make each year special for the families of our school and the students we serve.  Please step forward to be a part of this fabulous work and reach out to me any time.

    Truly,

    Daniel P. Estep
